Medical and nursing students, physicians in training, nurses and nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and seasoned physicians will find this manual useful. It is of particular relevance to specialists in internal medicine, family medicine, cardiology, anesthesia, and emergency medicine. The book is authored and edited by well-respected teaching physicians from Harvard Medical School. A brief introduction describes ECG findings and electrophysiological pathways of commonly encountered arrhythmias. This is followed by 62 clinical scenarios with an accompanying ECG. These are initially presented with questions regarding diagnosis and treatment. Each case is further explored individually with the correct diagnosis, specific ECG findings to make note of, hints about what to consider in the clinical presentation, physiological explanations, and management recommendations. The format of a question followed by a detailed explanation is especially useful as it allows readers to test previously acquired knowledge and ECG-reading skills.
